SCHOOLS

The lake, forest, mountains and rivers have provided the outdoor classroom for thousands of young people who have benefited from Forest Lake since 1998. A well constructed outdoor experience provides an ongoing point of reference for teachers who are able to draw parallels with an activity and the demands of school life. Personal and social development achieved during a Forest Lake course is significant and the skills acquired, form part of the life long learning concept.

The direct feedback we have received confirms that we are achieving our aims of building self-confidence and self-esteem, while fostering a sense of social and environmental responsibility.

It is well documented that outdoor activities encourage resourcefulness, initiative and self-reliance, promote a deeper concern for others and for the natural environment.

Forest Lake offers adventure programmes to both primary and high schools, varying from a day visit to five days. A proposed adventure program, meal planner and activity schedule is forwarded to you for perusal. Our staff have international experience with Outward Bound, USA Summer Camp and PGL.We also draw staff from GAP Year International.

Mobile adventures are also available in Lesotho, where we have several base camps and a small established lodge, St James Lodge, which caters mostly for tourists.
